The Immigrant Business Connection
The Immigrant Business Connection is a web portal to help New Americans start a business in New York City by providing relevant information in the language of their choosing. See link to translations of TOP guides from NYC.gov SBS
Smallbiz.nypl.org links business owners to agencies, business support groups, and community based organizations, some with multi-lingual staff to support immigrants in the start-up process.
With support from Citi Community Development, NYC's Department of Small Business Services recently launched the Immigrant Business Initiative and a Partnership with NYC's Public Libraries.
The Immigrant Business Connection enhancements include:
- A translate this page feature throughout Smallbiz.nypl.org
- An expanded Services Directory with a comment feature
- Top 10 documents from the NYC Small Business Services Division translated into several languages
The Immigrant Business Connection is a joint project of the NYPL’s Thomas Yoseloff Business Center at SNFL, NYC Department of Small Business Services, the Fund for Public Advocacy, and Citi Community Development.
