About the Speakers:

Ruthie Hubbard is a Go-To-Market and Product Strategy leader at Fiserv, a global fintech company that moves money and information securely for thousands of financial institutions and millions of businesses. Ruthie leads efforts to turn complex payment data into actionable Payments Intelligence, helping businesses understand how and where people spend money. Outside of her fintech work, Ruthie is a seasoned moderator and interviewer passionate about spotlighting first-time authors, investors, and founders' stories. She has led powerful fireside chats with figures like Bozoma Saint John, Doug Melville, and Lee Moulton—exploring themes of leadership, legacy, innovation, and cultural impact. Her work blends sharp business insight with thoughtful conversation to create space for meaningful engagement and fresh perspective.

Matías Figliozzi is an Argentine biotech entrepreneur and economist, known for bridging science and business to tackle urgent challenges in agriculture. After earning his degree from the University of Buenos Aires, he spent nearly a decade working at the intersection of innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. He is a member of the World Economic Forum and serves as an advisor to an NGO supporting Indigenous communities in the Andes, which holds consultative status with the United Nations.

In 2022, he co-founded Unibaio, a startup that developed a biodegradable nanoparticle platform to drastically reduce the use of agrochemicals by improving plant uptake and efficacy. Unibaio won the 2024 Grow-NY competition, receiving a $1 million award and expanding operations in New York, where Matías now leads the U.S. strategy.

Beyond his role as CEO, Matías is an active voice for Latin American biotech, often speaking at international forums and encouraging global investment in science-driven solutions from the Global South.
