Public Art in Harlem and Beyond
Location
IN PERSON
In collaboration with West Harlem Art Fund, join us for a panel discussion on the impact of public art in Harlem and how artists engage the public with their installations.
Moderated by Savona Bailey-McClain, executive director and chief curator of the West Harlem Art Fund, the panel will include Kendal Henry, assistant commissioner of Public Art at the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, and Harlem-based artists Dianne Smith and Fitgi Saint-Louis. This spring, the Art Fund revived the Harlem Sculpture Gardens (Art in the Park) in collaboration with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation and Saint-Louis will unveil the sculpture Aunties on the median at 124th Street and Malcolm X Boulevard on May 16.
