Event Details

Write Now! A Writer's Collective is a space to write and think creatively. We send out the prompts ahead of time, but by no means should you come prepared with anything polished. The point is to generate a piece of writing in the space of the workshop and encourage others to do the same.

Writers will have 20-30 minutes to free write, then anyone who wants to can share their writing for feedback.

Here are this month's optional prompts:

  • It’s almost Valentine’s Day – write about someone getting broken up with during their Valentine’s Day dinner date.
  • New Year’s Resolutions are often notoriously short lived. Write about a character (or yourself) justifying dumping a resolution in February.
  • At this link you’ll find a manuscript page by the Limbourg brothers. This is the February page from their book of hours, “Les Très Riches Heures du duc de Berry.” Write something in response to this manuscript page.

This event will take place in-person at the Mulberry Street Library. Registration is optional and does not guarantee attendance. Participation is first come, first served and limited to 20 writers.
