Event Details

This event will take place in person at Jerome Park Library.

Join us and the  Society of Illustrators for Creating Characters Workshop.  In this creative workshop author, illustrator & educator Clare Pernice shares a character lion puppet craft and a fun character illustration for coloring. During the hour event participants will listen to a picture book reading and find out where story ideas and inspiration for words and pictures come from. Everyone will create their own illustrated characters and have fun sharing them with the group.

This program is designed for children ages 4-8 and their caregivers.

ABOUT CULTURE PASS

Culture Pass

Culture Pass is a program for cardholding patrons of New York City’s public libraries, Brooklyn Public Library, New York Public Library, and Queens Public Library. Culture Pass doesn't just give library patrons the chance to visit museums and theaters across the city—we also work with our partners to bring these amazing institutions into branches in all five boroughs.  Visit nypl.org/events/culture-pass for programs and learn about our city's cultural community.

Culture Pass programming is made possible through generous funding from the Charles H. Revson Foundation and the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund.

  • Audience: Children, Pre-schoolers (3-5 years)
