A quartet comprised of erhu, pipa, flute, and piano performs Chinese music steeped in regional colors and contemporary work derived from time-honored traditions. Blending individual timbres of Chinese and Western instruments, the unique ensemble interprets music from the southern Jiangnan region, the Pamir Mountains of Xinjiang, classical poetry, and other themes of Chinese life and culture.
