The Department of Small Business Services (SBS) Minority-and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) Program certifies businesses primarily owned, operated, and controlled by women and/or minorities.  The program is designed to help generate growth opportunities for these businesses.   Class attendees will go through the actual M/WBE Certification Application and a review of all of the supporting documentation.

To qualify, a company must be:

  • In Business for at least one year
  • At least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by a women or a member of a recognized minority group, including Asian-Pacific, Asian-Indian, Black, or Hispanic
  • Located in New York City or have a substantial business presence in New York City
