Venerated writer and novelist Paul Theroux has invited us on his travels for fifty years, taking us from Boston to Cape Town to Tokyo and back. Now in his tenth book, Theroux maps the rural highways and small-town churches of South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas in Deep South: Four Seasons on Back Roads. Hear Theroux discuss this American region and its rich, complex history with television host Charlie Rose.
