First Fridays: Masquerade Edition

Date and Time
October 2, 2015
Event Details

In celebration of iconic black horror films, the Schomburg Center is thrilled to present First Fridays: Masquerade Edition. Our monthly dance social will transform into a Halloween pageant, where attendees are encouraged to wear a costume to celebrate their favorite horror icons. There will be a costume contest, so dress to impress!

In addition, visitors are invited to check out our new exhibitions, Unveiling Visions: The Alchemy of the Black Imagination and Black Suburbia: From Levittown to Ferguson

Inspired by our extensive collection of films from our Moving Image and Recorded Sound Division, we’ll screen Blacula and Vampire In Brooklyn in the American Negro Theatre — which houses our current exhibition, The 75th Anniversary of the American Negro Theatre.

Sign up for a Schomburg membership, become a Schomburg volunteer, and visit our Gift Shop — while networking and dancing the night away!

Our host for the night will be Dhalimu from Dhali’s Closet, with deejays DJ Masai in the Langston Hughes Lobby.

RSVP On Eventbrite. Donations are welcome.

See you there!
