Conversations from the Cullman Center: The Guardians: Susan Pedersen and Mark Mazower

Susan Pedersen is James P. Shenton Professor of the Core Curriculum at Columbia University. She specializes in British history, the British Empire, comparative European history, and international history. She is the author of several books, including Eleanor Rathbone and the Politics of Conscience. She worked on The Guardians while in residence at the Cullman Center in 2011-2012.

A historian and writer, Mark Mazower specializes in modern Greece, 20th century Europe and international history. His most recent book is Governing the World: the History of an Idea. He is currently the Director of the Heyman Center for the Humanities at Columbia University. His articles and reviews on history and current affairs appear regularly in the Financial Times, the Guardian, London Review of Books, The Nation and The New Republic.
