Muslim Women's Story Lab

Event Details

Learn more about the Muslim Women's Story Lab at a  special launch info-session! The Story Lab is a collaborative project using narrative tools and the arts for Muslim women's self-exploration and community engagement.

The Lab will build participants' capacity to lead creative, culturally resonant community-engagement projects using strategies that harness and reclaim Islam's empowerment of women, specifically related to the participation of women in mosque, community leadership roles, and in countering Islamophobia.

Over the course of five months, 15 female leaders will meet in bi-weekly workshops in NYC to nurture seeds of projects that will take root in their greater communities.  A culminating exhibition at the end of the program will display the process and products of the Story Lab and invite broader conversation.

Interested applicants can apply at womeninislam.org by September 28.

The 2015 Muslim Women's Story Lab is supported by the Asian Women's Giving Circle.
