Event Details

The Schomburg Center has played a pivotal role within Caribbean communities and thrives off the support we’ve received throughout our 90-year history. That’s why we are thrilled to present First Friday: Labor Day “Carnival" Edition.

Back by popular demand, our annual celebration returns with a fun-filled event where attendees are invited to rep their country with paraphernalia and flags. First Fridays attendees are encouraged to check out our wonderful exhibition, “The 75th Anniversary of the American Negro Theatre,” sign up for a Schomburg membership, and visit our Gift Shop — while networking and dancing the night away! Our host for the night will be the Humble Prince from Sahara FM, with deejays DJ Trini and DJ Craig Nice in the Langston Hughes Lobby and DJ Kwiss in the courtyard.

There will also be a surprise performance as well, so don't miss the magic.

Check out our promo video.

Donations are welcome.

First come, first seated

For all free events, we generally overbook to ensure a full house. All registered seats are released 15 to 30 minutes before start time, so we recommend that you arrive early.
