Join French author/illustrator Marc Boutavant and American author/illustrator Carin Berger in a conversation with Leonard Marcus that touches on the similarities and differences of the American/French children's publishing experience.

A wildly sought-after, award-winning author and illustrator, Marc Boutavant is not only a talented book creator,  but a regular contributor of editorial illustrations to international newspapers and magazines as well. He is best known for his book Around the World With Mouk and for two popular series, Ariol and Mouk, whose characters have each been adapted into an animated TV series. Boutavant’s characters, cartoons, and picture books have been him famous in France and popular throughout the world. Carin Berger has designed book covers for all of the major publishers. Her first picture book, Not so True Stories andUnreasonable Rhymes, was published by Chronicle Books in 2004 and she has been writing and illustrating picture books ever since. She was awarded the Society of Illustrators Founder’s Award in 2006, The Little Yellow Leaf was named one of the Ten Best Illustrated Books of 2008 by The New York Times and Behold the Bold Umbrellaphant was named Best of Show in 3x3 Magazine's Children's Book Show. Leonard S. Marcus is one of the world's leading writers about children's books and the people who create them.
