This lecture will interest those researching in the former Austro-Hungarian province of Galicia, which today covers eastern Poland and western Ukraine.  The All Galicia Database has 200,000 records from 70 data sources including birth, death, marriage, divorce, school, voter, and landowner records.  These contain names spanning all ethnic and religious groups, including Jews, Catholics, Ruthenians, Germans, and Greek Orthodox. Participants will learn how to use this search engine, in conjunction with the “Cadastral Map Room” online, to find ancestors and link the indexes and maps to the original source documents. Pamela Weisberger is a professional genealogist and research consultant in Los Angeles, where she is active in the Jewish Genealogical Society of Los Angeles, and president and research coordinator for Gesher Galicia, Inc.
