QuickBooks (Five session course August 2013)
SIBL is partnering with NYC.gov to offer business owners the NYC Business Solutions Center's five-part course in Quickbooks at the business library.
Classes will be held from 5:30-7:30 pm on August 1,8,15,22,29 (Thursdays).
The class in August is now closed to registrations. See the SBS website link below for future classes at SIBL and other locations.
(If there are any open slots, a few attendees may be permitted to sit in without pre-registration.
You can also LEARN Quickbooks with video training using lynda.com, available at SIBL, Mid Manhattan and the Bronx Library Center. Bring headphones to listen as you view the videos. No registration is required to use lynda.com at SIBL. Ask our staff, and use on any database computer in SIBL's electronic information center.
Why Quickbooks? Business owners need to monitor their spending and expenses in order to maintain a healthy profit.
This course will teach you how the Quickbooks software program can help you track your business financials effectively and efficiently.
Total course hours: 5 sessions, 10 hours. You will learn about:
Setting up your chart of accounts
Recording purchases, bills and accounts payable
Recording your sales, receive payments and make deposits
Creating reports that help you understand business performance
*NOTE: This course is designed to teach businesses how to use Quickbooks. You must have a basic knowledge of business financials and computer applications to benefit from this software training. If you are not familiar with concepts such as: categorizing revenues and expenses on an income statement, using a balance sheet, creating and using a cash flow statement, and accounting and bookkeeping methodology, you should register for Business Financial Management (see the SBS course link below) as a prerequisite.
