Movie Matinee - The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946)

May 22, 2013

Join us for a classic movie every Wednesday morning.

This week's movie is: The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946). A classic example of film-noir. Lana Turner and John Garfield are superb as the lovers in this story of dark sexuality, corruption, and retribution. Based on the novel by James M. Cain, the film relies on subtle innuendo, rather than graphic details, to express the Cain world of violence and sin.

Starring Lana Turner and John Garfield. Turner/MGM. Black and White. Not rated. 113 minutes.
