Documents, artifacts, research, oral history, recollections and love are at the core of this genealogical odyssey entitled Family Legacies: A Three Generation Project. Throughout its pages, fifteen authors, all members of the Jean Sampson Scott Greater New York Chapter of the Afro-American Historical & Genealogical Society, collaborate to explore the indomitable spirit of their ancestors whose faith, strength, tenacity and talent allowed them to rise above centuries of struggle and sacrifice to forge remarkable legacies for their descendants. Their stories illustrate life in various American states and the Caribbean islands.

This work was compiled and edited by the Writers Group of the Jean Sampson Scott Greater New York Chapter of the Afro-American Historical & Genealogical Society, Inc. (AAHGS-NY) and will be for sale at the event.
