Money Matters: Find YOUR Right Career

The New York Public Library's Money Matters series are made possible thanks to the generous support of The McGraw-Hill Companies' Financial Literacy Now: New York campaign.

This workshop is targeted to anyone looking to make a career move, from undergrads trying to decide on a career to mid or late career professionals and executives looking to plan their next move.

In this seminar, you will learn the steps you need to take to find career satisfaction.  Specifically, through in-class exercises, you will learn:

-Three self-assessment exercises that you can start immediately, which will give you the self-understanding to make your next career move the right one.

-How to apply your assessment results, using a career decision-making methodology to decide between alternate job targets.

-Research resources to learn more about potential careers.

-How to write a “job-search marketing plan” that is key to a successful career change.

Robert Hellmann has helped hundreds of clients in diverse industries and professions to reach their job-search and on-the-job goals. In addition to his private practice, Rob is a certified Five O'Clock Club Career Coach and an adjunct professor at NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies.  His career-related insights and commentary have appeared in media outlets such as the New York Times, Forbes, the.Washington Post, Money Magazine,, the Chicago Tribune, ABC News and NBC News.  He is also the author of the book "Your Social Media Job Search", and wrote two chapters on organizational leadership for the upcoming Five O’Clock Club book “Work Smarts.”
