Event Details

Update, 11/16/11: The hands-on project will be friendship bracelets. To make a friendship bracelet, you need about 2 yards EACH of four different colors of embroidery thread. We'll have some embroidery thread to share with everyone, but please bring your own if you have your heart set on a specific color combination.

Join crafty librarian Jessica Pigza of the Rare Book Division and Crafternoon author Maura Madden for a free DIY day at the Library.  We'll be joined by Bust Magazine founders Debbie Stoller and Laurie Henzel, whose newly published Bust DIY Guide to Life offers dozens of DIY projects to keep you busy. Over the years Bust has become a true leader of the DIY pack, hosting Craftaculars, running regular features on craft in each issue, and generally encouraging readers to do-it-outselves when it comes to creating our lives, expressing ourselves, and making or remaking our world. This will be a fun day, so join us! We'll be making old-school friendship bracelets, and we'll have the chance to browse awesome and inspiring back issues of Bust
