The author presents an eye-opening look at the new phenomenon called the aerotropolis - a combination of giant airport, planned city, shipping facility, and business hub - and gives us a glimpse at the way we will live in the near future and the way we will do business.  Learn about the aerotropolis-   the intersection of air travel and urban planning and explore how air travel and transportation are largely responsible for the shape and scope – and winners and losers – of globalization.  He examines how cities such as Hong Kong, Dallas, Detroit and Dubai are changing (or being built anew) to reflect the interests of corporations that effectively scattered pieces of themselves across the world, relying on the Internet and Airbus planes to tie themselves together.
