On Sunday, May 22nd at 2pm, the Museum of the Moving Image will host a talk with Nelson George, author, TV producer, cultural historian, and filmmaker, entitled, Malcolm X: Bigger than the Screen.
Nelson George will screen selected clips from films about Malcolm X and discuss the challenges filmmakers faced in documenting and depicting Malcolm X on film and television.
Legendary filmmaker Melvin Van Peebles will also be on the program sharing his reflections and recollections of an interview he did of Malcolm X in Paris not long before his assassination.
