Whose POEM Is It? 

an improvisational freestyle poetry program.

Exciting spoken word artists create free style poems on the spot -- all delivered in poetic verse!

 
Program Host Bob McNeil is a former poetry editor of BLACFAX and author of two books: Secular Sacraments, and The Nubian Gallery: A Poetry Anthology, and a spoken word CD, Rapping You with the Facts
 
Event Producer Max Rodriguez is the Founder and Director of the Harlem Book Fair the nation’s largest African American book festival, televised nationally on C-SPAN’s Book-TV / Publisher of QBR: the Black Book Review, an online literary review featuring writers of the African Diaspora, and publisher of QBR Publishing, a print on-demand authoring solution, targeted to African American and Latino readers and writers. Mr. Rodriguez authored the acclaimed Sacred Fire: The QBR 100 Essential Black Books (John Wiley & Sons, 1999) and is the editor of the QBR website (www.QBR.com). An Inductee of the Writer’s Hall of Fame at Chicago State University for his pioneering work in the advocacy of African American literature and publishing, he has also served on the Board of Directors of Poets & Writers magazine. Currently, he is the host of ‘Everything WORD’, the weekly internet podcast featuring writers on the urban cultural edge, and serves on the Board of Directors of City University of New York Television (CUNY-TV), the Dallas, Texas-based National African American Read-In, and Teachers & Writers Collaborative in New York City.
