Ner Beck: A Photographic Exhibition of Lost & Found New York City Street Art

June 4th, 2012 - July 14th, 2012

Program Locations:

Ner Beck, a New York City graphic artist and designer, has had a long-time interest in overlooked street art captured in photographs. He has had several library exhibitions as part of his commitment to encourage interest in Photography and the Graphic Arts at New York City Public Libraries. This recent series displayed at The East 96th Street Branch, represent images found on his daily walks in neighborhoods throughout the city.

"As most New Yorkers hurriedly target their destinations they tend to aim themselves straight ahead, frequently missing these faces, creatures, mini-environments, architectural details, holiday characters and unintended visual statements waiting to be noticed and appreciated. So the next time you travel on foot, try walking a little slower, relaxing and glancing obliquely. Many of these visual stories have always been there. Some are permanent and others disappear overnight. Look for them, they are always present, waiting to be discovered and enjoyed."
