LIFEBOAT by Liselott Johnsson

October 24th, 2013 - April 3rd, 2014

Program Locations:

In “Lifeboat,” visual artist and architect Liselott Johnsson, introduces the visual vocabulary of marine signal systems and emergency safety objects into the placid environment of the library. Inspired by naval flags, ancient alphabets, modernist painting and the recent Microsoft invention of High Capacity Color Barcode, Johnsson creates her own writing system resulting in objects and paintings that acquire semantic meaning.
