GLOBAL GRAFFITI – Photography Nancy C. Evers
I have always been drawn to graffiti, once painted in secret and in dark, remote places. In the 80s and 90s, this style of aerosol can painting had morphed into urban street art and had changed from a frowned-upon art form into a desirable one sanctioned by cities and municipalities such as Montreal, Canada, Asheville, NC and Amsterdam, The Netherlands. It had become art that no longer needed to hide. Urban street art is now found all over the world. I have photographed graffiti in London, Barcelona, Brussels, Bruges, Paris, Venice, Athens, and Switzerland, as well as in New York City, Denver, CO, Cambridge, MD and Matlachat, FL.
Come and enjoy this exhibition and know that I will continue my quest for this unique and wonderful expression of the human spirit known as GRAFFITI.
