Volunteers trained by the Health Promotion Services unit of NYC’s Department for the Aging will lead participants in a well-balanced series of exercises for all ability levels. Next Chapter Book Club provides the opportunity for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to read, learn and make friends in a community setting. It is not a traditional book club where groups read books on their own time and gather to discuss, but rather the group meets weekly and the participants take turns reading aloud the books that have been preselected for them.
