Ottendorfer Book Club: Radium Girls by Kate Moore
Our August selection is Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Women, a full-length account of the struggles of hundreds of women who were exposed to dangerous levels of radium while working factory jobs during World War I. Moore describes how these women were misled by their employers and became embroiled in a groundbreaking battle for workers' rights. Join us for a lively discussion and good company.
