Calling all book lovers! Come celebrate Pride Month at the 125th Street Library by joining us for a discussion of James Baldwin’s Giovanni’s Room. This early classic from the famed Harlem writer is set in the ‘50s and tells the story of a young American man in Paris caught between desire and conventional morality. Come join us for a beginner-friendly writing workshop led by teaching artist Simeen Anjum! Participants will have the opportunity to think about past or current addresses and how they can be spaces of belonging, transition, memory, and identity. Through a series of guided prompts, participants will also get to create postcards to mail their reflections out into the world.
