Explore the meaning of human behavior through the lens of Marvin Harris' cultural materialism -- a school of thought that explains human behavior in relation to concrete social and economic conditions. If you enjoy walking and talking books come join our Walking Book Club. This month we will read and discuss Ordinary Human Failings by Megan Nolan. Stop by the New Amsterdam library to pick up a copy. Meet at the branch at 11:00AM In case of extreme weather we will meet in the community room.

Do you love plants and want to grow your collecton? Or are you looking to start your indoor garden? Come join us every last Monday of the month to swap and learn about plants with your neighbors. Please bring your plants, cuttings and seeds to exchange. You can still participate without bringing a plant to swap.Plants must be healthy and pest free. Please do not forget to bring bags or containers to carry your new plants home.

This event will take place in-person at the New Amsterdam library and is restricted to tweens and teens in grades 6-12. Registration is not required.
