Come join Washington Heights Library’s Anime & Manga club, as we watch our favorite anime, as well as discuss new and upcoming manga titles. Interested in using our Recording Studio? Recording Studio Basics is a course series where teens can learn the basics of how to operate our recording studio. At the end of the series, teens are eligible to take the Recording Studio assessment, and when they pass, they will receive a Studio Card and be able to book time in our recording studios independently. Here’s a chance to record and produce music, podcasts, or just vibe out with your friends. The fully equipped recording studio has all the tech you need to start your career in music and production.

This program will take place onsite at Jerome Park Library. Join us every Wednesday and Friday for an hour of family fun activities. Children will have the option to play Nintendo, various board and STEAM games, or UNO. Adults can participate in an art & craft activity with their child or own their own as their child plays games with other children. This is a family fun hour for children, teens and parents. Children under six years old must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver.

Have you ever asked where someone got a cool shirt or bag and heard "I made it myself"? With this introduction to screen printing that person could be you! Make a bag or shirt with a design of your choice using a silk screen press and become your own fashion icon.

Kick back and relax in the programming room of the Van Cortlandt branch at 4:00 pm, where we'll be playing games like Wii Sports and Mario Kart! Games will be on rotation based on popular demand. Library staff will provide guidance to patrons who have never played on the Wii before to help them get acquainted with motion-sensor technology and gyroscopic control of the game. This fun exercise takes advantage of software designed to prepare teens for the real world. This event will help students figure out which careers may match their personalities. In this workshop we will explore creative and uncanny ways to generate lyrical ideas by using free association. Using a web-based Digital Audio Workstation everyone will create a song based around their lyrics. No experience or materials needed!
