Computers for Public Use

Internet and word processing computers are provided on both levels of SIBL: the street level, in the Dorothy and Lewis Cullman Reading Room, and the lower level, in the Elizabeth and Felix Rohatyn EIC, and in Job Search Central (Quade room) for job seekers.

Sign up for an Internet/Word processing session with a NYPL Library card at a reservation station, on either level. Users are limited to one Internet/word processing computer session per day in the NYPL system.
The Elizabeth and Felix Rohatyn Electronic Information Center, lower level, provides access to over 150 licensed information databases, without sign up or time limits. Users may download information to a USB drive (purchase at the copy services desk, lower level). Library staff are available to assist with searching, downloading and printing.
Library users must observe copyright and other restrictions or regulations as posted on the library's website or on library licensed databases.
Please Note: To ensure the security of the Library’s network, library users may not install or run programs, or link to unauthorized websites from computers designated for licensed database and catalog use only. Users may not download or upload unauthorized software on library computers. Hacking and attempts to bypass the Library e-resources menus or library proxy servers is strictly prohibited. Library users found violating this policy will be warned and may lose their library privileges.
