Happy #LibraryShelfie Day! Show Off Those Shelves!

It's the fourth Wednesday of January which means . . . it's #LibraryShelfie Day!

The New York Public Library started this annual tradition over ten years ago as a small, but fun way to show off beautiful books and share a love of libraries and the written word. It's simple—take a photo with yourself and a shelf of books, either at home or in a library and post it to social media using the hashtag #LibraryShelfie. We even have speech bubble props for you to print out and use in your photos. Here's one in grayscale and another in color.

Below you can see some of our wonderful staff members showing off our shelves including local literary legend—Patience, one of the NYPL lions. We're also showing off some of the wonderful #LibraryShelfie Day photos and videos popping up on social media from around the country and the world.
