Get Ready for Back to School with Book-Inspired Crafts

It’s time to go back to school! Whether your kids are attending in person, from home, or a little bit of both, these book-inspired crafts are a perfect complement to the beginning of the school year.

Sherice, a Children's Librarian from Clason’s Point Library has a wonderful project, inspired by Surviving High School. The Surviving High School Goal Jar is a fun way to start off the school year and a great way to stay motivated through June. Ariel from School Support decorated hers with ribbon and a colorful tag (above).

Tessa from School Support loves helping Lola and her big brother Gilbert from Brand New Pencils Brand New Books prepare for the first day of school by designing their notebooks. You can also decorate your notebook, just in time for the first day of school.

The Pigeon Has to Go To School! How do you think he'll get there? Let's ride into the new school year with well wishes. You can create a sentimental school bus card that your child can carry with them all year long (find instructions on Non-Toy Gifts).

Mask Craft

Miss Marisa from Riverside Library is here to help you stay healthy and combat those  First Day Jitters with her paper mask portraits! All you need is paper, a pencil, and your favorite crayons, markers, or colored pencils.

All the children are excited about going to school this year, even dinosaurs! Tessa from School Support is thrilled to share a stomping fun craft to make even the shiest student ROAR!! How Do Dinosaurs Go to School?  With crafts, of course.
