Industries You May Not Have Heard Of

At the Science, Industry and Business Library, we specialize in offering access to information on various industries, most notably in the form of industry surveys and profiles. Our extensive collection goes beyond the expected (from Airlines to Textiles) to include industries you may not have heard of (such as The Happiness Industry).

Below is just an example of the wide variety of our offerings. The reports detailing these industries are carefully prepared by professionals who have in-depth knowledge of a particular industry. They're not available for free on the Internet, but you can access them at the library in databases like:

Industry / Market Surveys

What is an industry survey? It usually offers an industry overview, and discusses its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (called a SWOT analysis), provides ratios, statistics, and how a particular industry operates. There is often a chapter on how to analyze a company in a given industry and a glossary of terms, along with industry references.
