Who Will Write Our History? Samuel Kassow and Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett
To mark the 75th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, the Library will host two renowned scholars of Polish Jewish history, Samuel Kassow and Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett. The two will discuss the Oyneg Shabes archive, a secret record of life under Nazi occupation created by a clandestine group of Jewish historians, writers, teachers, and students, whose great act of unarmed defiance helped to preserve the wartime story of Polish Jewry—a story that was almost lost to history.
