They've Come UnDonne: The Librarian Is In Podcast, Ep. 77
We want to hear from you! Please share your thoughts with us in this short survey: www.nypl.org/podcastsurvey
Gwen asks, "Is this poem about God?" and Frank is (nearly) brought to tears as they untangle the divine and the bawdy (and naughty) in two John Donne poems. Luckily Dr. Carolyn Broomhead joins them for some much needed poetry therapy. Together they traverse language, imagery and the backstory of the divine Dr. D.
Guest Star: Dr. Carolyn Broomhead
Carolyn is NYPL's Community Research Manager and holds a Ph.D. in English and American literature.
For more of John Donne's poetry and to learn more about when he lived, start your research in the General Research Division of the Schwarzman Building. If you're new to the Library or need a little help getting started, contact our librarians for a research consultation at email@example.com
For those whose projects would benefit from access to early printed versions of Donne's work, check the Library's special collections holdings.
