12/5: Naomi Klein with Martin Bruem: Arctic Imagination: Naomi Klein and Martin Breum revisits the Library again to discuss the installation of the Arctic Imagination project, a brainstorm across the Atlantic Ocean about the melting arctic ice and the increasing temperatures in which they exchange ideas about the future of the globe. 7 PM, Stephen A. 12/18: Masha Gessen: The Stories of a Life, Robert B. Silvers Lecture: National Book Award winner and author Masha Gessen delivers this year's annual Robert B. Silvers lecture, "The Stories of a Life." 7 PM, Stephen A. Schwarzman Building .

11/28: Masterworks: Kathleen Collins: Watch Kathleen Collins' film Losing Ground and learn about her work as adroit creative and activist. 6:30 PM, The Schomburg Center.
11/29: The Chickenshit Club: Why the Justice Department Fails to Prosecute Executives: Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jesse Eisinger shares his thoughts of corporate corruption and the lack of response from the Department of Justice after the financial crisis in 2008. 6:30 PM, Mid-Manhattan Library at 42nd Street
12/1: Schomburg Center First Fridays Holiday Edition: The Schomburg Center presents their 3rd annual Holiday "Black Tie Edition" party, presenting their 92 year history of vast archival collections and honoring World AIDS Day. Hors d'oeurves and complimentary glasses of champagne will be served. 6 PM, The Schomburg Center.
12/2: American Encounters: New Century Voices: Explore the rich holdings of American chamber music in the archival collections of The Library for the Performing Arts in an afternoon of friendly, informative conversation plus performances of music. 2:30 PM, The Library for the Performing Arts.
12/4: Alternate Endings, Radical Beginnings: Visual AIDS commissioned seven new and innovative short videos about the ongoing AIDS epidemic curated by Erin Christovate and Vivian Crockett. 6:30 PM, The Schomburg Center.
12/4: Navidad Flamenca: Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana ll thrills the audience with rich holiday customs of the Spanish- speaking world, highlighting traditions united by a single language and reflecting the influence of the Spanish culture throughout the Americas. 6 PM, The Library for the Performing Arts.
12/11: Fantastic Fictions: Join in on the conversation with fiction authors, N.K Jemisin and S.A Chakraborty with Victor LaValle as they discuss about their new books followed by a Q&A. 6:30 PM, Mid-Manhattan Library at 42nd Street.
12/11: History by Michael John LaChiusa: To celebrate the Library's acquisition of the Michael John LaChiusa papers, Mr. LaChiusa sits at the piano and joins a conversation of his life, works and process. 6 PM, The Library for the Performing Arts.
12/13: Cartoon County: Cullen Murphy: The Vanity Fair editor reconstructs the history of cartoonists and illustrators from the Connecticut School. 6:30 PM, Stephen A. Schwarzman Building.

12/5: 2017 Overview and 2018 Stock Market & Economic Outlook: Kristopher D. Carney reviews the 2017 markets and the economy and discusses the 2018 outlook for various markets, economics, interest rates and asset allocation positioning. 6 PM, Science, Industry and Business Library.
