The Dance Division has over forty-five original costume designs by artist and designer Boris Anisfeld. We are thrilled that we have been given permission to digitize the designs and include them in NYPL's Digital Collections.

Some of my favorite designs are from the underwater ballet from the opera Sadko (1911) for Les Ballets Russes (Dyagilev). The music was by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. Choreography Mikhail Fokine. The designs are watercolor and gouache. The designs below are all from Sadko.
