Booktalking "The Worst Princess" by Anna Kemp and Sara Ogilvie

princess

Princess Sue has done all of the right things. She grew her braids long. She waited patiently and looked hopefully out the tower window for her prince. One hundred years passed... and one day, her prince finally arrived!

The princess was excited. She would get to see the world, ride horses, and do fun stuff. But, Contrare, said the prince. He wanted her to spend time in a pink tower wearing frilly dresses.

Princess Sue got annoyed that her prince was such a dimwit. She looked and looked at the horizon from her tower and finally spied... a dragon. She offered the dragon tea, and he gratefully accepted. She rode her dragon, got dirty, cut her hair into short braids, and did all of the things that princesses are not supposed to do.

Princess Sue is endearing.
