Reader’s Den
July in the Reader's Den: Watchmen by Alan Moore
Welcome to the Reader’s Den in July! For this month our selection will be the Graphic Novel, Watchmen, written by Alan Moore.
This book was written in the late '80s, but its story still resonates today and helped to create the modern comic book industry with its graphic realism and focus on modern issues.
The main plot of Watchmen revolves around the death of the Comedian and the ripples of that murder on the community, both Superhero and civilian. In the world of the Watchmen Superheroes exist, and once fought for the betterment of mankind, but now are retired or work for the Government.
Old comrades must band together to unravel the mystery about who killed their ex-teammate and find a deeper, more insidious plot that threatens to change the very face of the planet.
