More Voices from Mulberry Street Library: Don't Close the Book on Libraries

More and more library users are expressing their concern over proposed cuts to library services and hours. Here are just a few from the Mulberry Street Library:

"I was laid off over 2 years ago and haven't found a job. The libraries are a lifeline for me. You don't want to take that away!" —JHW

"It is absolutely tragic that when it is time for budget cuts, the first place that the government hits...are the public libraries... not to mention the much needed after-school programs that not only help the kids but single parents who rely on these programs." —RL

"I come to the library almost every day. I use libraries all over the city because of their rich collections and variety of hours. Cuts to hours, staff and collections would be a terrible loss in such a well-read city. Many people can't afford to buy books these days, or to rent dvds. The library's services are VITAL!"
