Lev Izraelit was born in the ex-USSR and spent most of his life in Israel. He came to the US soon after finishing his mandatory army service, where he served as a computer programmer. Currently he's in his senior year at Hunter College, where he majors in computer science, with a secondary concentration in English Literature.

George Matteson took a creative writing class at Middlebury College in 1970, moved to New York City to become a writer, but turned into a tugboat captain instead. After 20 years working in New York Harbor and East Coast waters he turned back into a writer. He is author of DRAGGERMEN: Fishing on Georges Bank (Scholastic/Four Winds Press, 1978), a poetry collection, That Miraculous Land (East River Press, 1983), and TUGBOATS OF NEWYORK: An Illustrated History (NYU Press, 2005).  TUGBOAT STORIES, of which this selection is a part, is forthcoming. 

Trapeta B. Mayson is a recipient of a 2002 Pew Fellowship, 2007 Leeway Transformation  Award, 2014 Leeway Art and Change Grant and Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Grants.  She is the author of two books, She Was Once Herself and Mocha Melodies.  Her other publications include submissions in The American Poetry Review, Aesthetica Magazine, Margie: The American Journal of Poetry and Lavanderia among others. She is a native of Liberia and has spent most of her life in Philadelphia. Her work sheds light on and honors the immigrant experience as well as amplifies the stories of everyday people. She resides in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia and is the Executive Director of Historic Germantown in Philadelphia. www.trapetamayson.com 

Michael Reynolds has been at Europa Editions, where he is currently the Editor in chief,  since 2004. Authors he has worked with at Europa include Alina Bronsky, Rebecca Connell, Alessandro Piperno, Amelie Nothomb, Richard Beard, Zane Lovitt, Elena Ferrante, Chantel Acevedo, Jennifer Tseng, and Jonathan Grimwood. He is also an author and a translator. His published translations include three crime novels by Carlo Lucarelli, Daniele Mastrogiacomo's  Days of Fear, and Viola Di Grado’s prize-winning novel 70% Acrylic 30% Wool, all published by Europa Editions. He was born in Australia in 1968 and now lives in New York. 

Lewis Warsh is the author of over thirty volumes of poetry, fiction and autobiography,  including Alien Abduction (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2015), One Foot Out the Door:  Collected Stories (Spuyten Duyvil, 2014), A Place in the Sun (Spuyten Duyvil, 2010) and Inseparable: Poems 1995-2005 (Granary Books, 2008). He was co-founder, with Bernadette Mayer, of United Artists Magazine and Books and has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council of the Arts, The  Poet’s Foundation and The Fund for Poetry. Mimeo Mimeo #7 (2012) was devoted to his poetry, fiction and collages, and to a bibliography of his work as a writer and publisher. He has taught at Naropa University, The Poetry Project, SUNY Albany and Long Island University (Brooklyn) where he was founding director of the MFA program in creative writing (2007-2013) and where he currently teaches.
