Current Volunteer Opportunities
Crochet Tutor needed at Macombs Bridge Library
A volunteer is needed to help co-lead a weekly crochet class. Starting on Saturday, October 26th in 8 week sessions. The class will be held from 11am to 1pm. If you love crochet and fiber arts and want to share your enthusiasm with others, email us at volunteer@nypl.org and please include a few examples of your work. Thank you.
Book Sale Volunteers needed at St. Agnes Library
Do you love books and interacting with booklovers? Would you be interested in supporting the Library behind the scenes? Please consider a longterm commitment to volunteering for three to five hours each week, weekday and Saturday afternoons, at our book sale.
Book Sale volunteers will be expected to work in the book sale room, including subject area curation and shelf arrangement of books and/or media, and other tasks as necessary.
Intermittent attendance at Book Sale events held on either Wednesday or Saturday afternoons from 12pm-4pm, to assist customers and/or the purchase table staff, is also expected.
If you are interested in volunteering at the book sale, please email volunteer@nypl.org with your resume, description of your interest, and availability OR visit the St. Agnes Library Booksale M, W, F from 1 - 4pm. Thank you!
Note: you must be 21 or older to apply for this volunteer position.
Origami Enthusiast and Chinese Calligraphy Enthusiast wanted at Macomb's Bridge Library
A volunteer who can host a January 2025 origami class is needed. And a volunteer who can teach a one time class in Chinese calligraphy. This would be a 60 - 90 minute one time class and all supplies would be provided. Are you artistic and willing to share your talent? If so please contact volunteer@nypl.org.
Knit or Crochet Tutor needed at Columbus Library
A volunteer is needed to help co-lead a weekly fiber arts class. Starting as soon as possible. The class can be held on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday.
