Remote Learning Resources: Kids & Teens

Grid of students learnign in various environments

Welcome to our Remote Learning Resources for Kids & Teens page, a vital digital tool for young learners and their parents and caretakers while NYPL is temporarily closed. Check out some of the wide array of online resources NYPL offers:

Academic Support

Get free, online homework help from one-on-one tutors, daily from 2 PM to 11 PM through our partnership with Brainfuse. Available in English and Spanish, for early elementary through high school students, in core subject areas. Explore more from the Library's academic resources 24/7, including our wide array of online learning aids for all ages and teaching resources for educators.

Reading Resources

Need some good book recommendations? Or access to e-books? Read aloud suggestions? We’ve got all your at-home reading needs covered for kids of all ages.

We’re here to help bring the joy of books to our youngest readers, too. Enjoy weekday storytimes brought directly to you by our expert children's librarians as they read beloved books, sing songs, and share early literacy tips.

Engaging Activities to Do at Home

It’s important for young minds to explore their imaginations. We have ideas for arts and crafts, science experiments, and more included in our Learn at Home calendars for Grades Pre-K–2, Grades 3–5, Grades 6–8, and Grades 9–12.

Note: Some of these resources, such as live virtual homework assistance and access to some databases, are available only with your NYPL library card. Other resources, such as practice tests and video read alouds, are available without a library card. If you need to sign up for a library card, use the SimplyE app.
