The Staten Island Reading Association is a Council of the New York State Reading Association, and chartered by the International Reading Association.Membership is open to all persons engaged in teaching or supervision in any school or district level, to parents, and to all others interested in the purpose of the Association.

The program is operated by the SIMHS in cooperation with the New York City Department of Education, and in partnership with Time Warner Cable.
