At this year’s Dinner, scheduled for Monday, June 1, the Library is proud to honor Google and The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation for their partnership and leadership on one of the Library’s newest programs—Library HotSpot, an innovative WiFi lending initiative. The Library will also be recognizing the Open Society Foundation and the Robin Hood Foundation for their key support of this effort.
Library HotSpot is successfully reaching thousands of Library patrons, some of the 27 percent of our City’s residents who do not have home Internet access, allowing them to utilize the tools they need to compete in the workforce, complete their homework, and keep up in today’s digitally based world. Through its many educational programs—including ESOL, TechConnect, and Out of School Time—the Library is proactively reaching out to New York’s diverse communities, schools, and neighborhoods, ensuring that millions of the City’s residents have access to services that help them lead happier, more productive, and fulfilling lives.
We are excited to announce Debbie Harry as our 2015 Spring Dinner for Education special guest performer.
Support for the Spring Dinner for Education enables the Library to serve New Yorkers of all ages by providing unfettered access to information, knowledge, and educational opportunities. To secure your reservation, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 212.930.0671.
