You Spoke Out, and City Leaders Listened

We’re thrilled to report that the Mayor and City Council have announced their agreement on the budget—and it’s a historic win for libraries. The City will increase the operating budget for libraries by $43 million. We’ll also see a significant increase in capital funding to take care of our aging buildings.

Please send a letter today to thank Mayor de Blasio, Speaker Mark-Viverito, and the City Council for investing in libraries, and investing in New Yorkers.

Dear Mayor de Blasio, Speaker Mark-Viverito, Majority Leader Van Bramer and Finance Chair Ferreras,

Thank you!

I'm thrilled to hear of the historic investment in libraries included in this year's City budget. Longer library hours, more librarians, more books, and more classes for all New Yorkers will make our neighborhoods and our city even stronger.

You've made me (even more) proud to be a New Yorker!

Again, many thanks.
