The mission of the Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC) is to create and retain jobs through programming that assists small businesses, encourages entrepreneurship, and promotes their community with an emphasis on supporting those of low-to-moderate income, women, minorities, and immigrants. EDC programs include specialized workshops and training seminars, the Queens StartUp! Business Plan Competition, the Queens Tech + Innovation Challenge, and the Women's Business Center.
