Business & Career services at BPL are for entrepreneurs, freelancers, job seekers and anyone seeking a secure financial future. Our services are designed to help you expand your horizons with workshops and programs , research emerging trends and market opportunities , learn marketable skills and digital tools, discover your career path or master your finances .  Knowledgeable staff are available to answer your questions and assist you with research.

Located on the second floor of Central Library, the Business & Career Center (B&CC) is a hub for learning and innovation in Brooklyn and features a coworking area, laptops for loan, access to online resources and books on business, careers and personal finance.

In the B&CC you can borrow a laptop using your BPL library card. We also have conversation booths and meeting rooms which may be reserved for meetings, working, conducting job interviews, and more. Get details about meeting room policies or make reservations here.

The Local Development Corporation of East New York [LDCENY] serves industrial and commercial businesses in the East New York and Brownsville communities. It manages the East Brooklyn Industrial Business Improvement District.  We empower low-to-moderate income women and minorities with programs that promote economic sufficiency, build assets and improve their lives and those of their families.  We work with local businesses to retain and build industry and commerce, create jobs and improve economic opportunities for local residents and neighborhood enterprise. Other programs under its management are the the New York State Empire Zones Program, which offers financial incentives to encourage businesses to invest, expand and create more jobs in the EZ, and the Women's Business Center. Services are available in Spanish and English.

 

The Queens Borough Public Library’s Business, Science and Technology Division provides quality services, resources and learning opportunities through books and a variety of other formats to meet the informational, educational and cultural needs of business owners and entrepreneurs.

The Thomas Yoseloff Business Center at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library (SNFL) is The New York Public Library’s premier business library, offering an array of free resources for those interested in personal finance and investing, small business, financial research, and career services. It also provides premium electronic resources and services for businesses of all sizes, from start-ups to established businesses seeking expansion, and for job seekers, from entry to executive levels.
