Federally Registered Trademarks
U.S. Trademarks Cassis
Cassis is the US Patent and Trademark Office's CD ROM database. It contains
all currently registered and pending federal trademarks on two disks: Trademarks
REGISTERED and Trademarks PENDING.
The Official Gazette of the US Patent and Trademark Office:
Trademarks
This weekly publication presents all trademarks as they are "Published for
Opposition" including all bibliographic information about each trademark --
serial number, mark, owner name(s), international class of goods and services
-- as well as a black and white image of the trademark. The Official Gazette
also lists those trademarks that have been registered that week and gives notices
concerning regulations and expirations. The print copy of the Official Gazette
arrives weekly, approximately a week and a half after the date of publication.
SIBL has the Official Gazette from 1872 to the present.
Directory of US Trademarks
This annual 11 volume set indexes registered US trademarks alphabetically by
each word in the mark, and by the international class of goods and services.
No images are included. The 1996 edition, the most recent edition, includes
all registered trademarks as of October, 1995.
The Trademark Index of US Patents & Trademark Office Federal
Records
This annual publication lists all the currently registered trademarks that
include words as of a given day. The 1995 edition, for example, lists trademarks
alphabetically, with in each class, that were currently registered as of October
25, 1994. It does not included trademarks that consist of a design only.
Index of US Trademarks
This annual publication lists the registered trademarks for a given year.

Trademark Manual of Examining Procedure

of the procedures used by trademark examiners when dealing with trademark
applications. It is a good source for precise requirements of the trademark
application process.

This manual provides applicants with basic information useful for litigating
cases before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Likelihood Of Confusion In Trademark Law
by Richard L. Kirkpatrick.
International and Foreign Trademarks
SIBL has a large collection of foreign and international
trademarks and trademark gazettes. Those in gazette, i.e., abstract
of the trademark registration, are primarily available on paper.
For a complete list, view SIBL's Foreign And International Patents
and Trademarks. Those in book form may be either in SIBL's closed
stacks, retrievable with a call number, patent # and date, or in
the New York Public Library's Annex. Those kept in the Annex can be
requested at SIBL's delivery desk, but take at least 24 hours to
retrieve. Due to the fragile condition of some of the older paper
copies, an archival photocopy may need to be made of these sources
before photocopying is permitted by the public.
